Kelowna Christian Center Society has an opening for aSYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR. 

This is an onsite position.

The primary role of this position is to manage and maintain the server and network infrastructure, with a primary focus on the following technologies/systems: Windows Server, Active Directory, Exchange Server, Linux servers (typically CentOS/Debian).

 Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain and monitor multiple Windows Servers and related services (AD, DNS, DHCP, IAS, WSUS, etc.)
  • Maintain and monitor Exchange Servers
  • Configure and administer Linux servers
  • Ensure that servers are securely configured and patched
  • Review server logs on a regular basis, looking for errors or irregularities
  • Disaster recovery planning, preparation, and periodic testing
  • Document all changes and events
  • Research and test new technologies and investigate how they can be applied or deployed to the organization
  • Plan and implement onsite network (wired & wireless) infrastructure
  • Other related duties as assigned or required
  • Good technical writing with a proficiency in English
  • Work individually and as part of a team, and have good communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical and communication skills, in addition to in-depth technical knowledge of systems are key skills for this job.
  • Good understanding of business computer networking
  • Ability to independently research and learn new skills as challenges arise
  • Self-motivated with the ability to meet and work within deadlines
  • Strong documentation skills regarding changes, events, service implementation, etc.
  • Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or related discipline or demonstrable experience in related fields may be accepted in lieu of degree.
  • 4+ years of applicable experience preferred.
  • Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) certification.
  • Strong experience administrating Windows Server, Active Directory, Exchange Server, and Linux servers.
  • Prefer local (Kelowna) resident for easy access to data center and onsite facilities as part of on call duties
  • Must pass a criminal record check
  • Fast-paced environment and able to multitask
  • Work under pressure with deadlines
  • Attention to detail
  • On Call Responsibilities - may be required to respond to emergencies outside of normal working hours
